Choosing Your Gown
|
1.Selecting Normans has an extensive selection of bridal gown styles, sizes and colors in the store showroom and most brides find the perfect dress from this selection. If your selection requires that it be ordered in a different size, color or with a custom option the following information will help you with that process. 2. Ordering Bridal gowns are handmade and the arrival of your gown may take anywhere from 4 to 6 months depending on the designer. Gowns can be discontinued or chosen for a sample sale with no notice to the bride, so once you find the perfect dress do not hesitate to order it. Normans will store your gown until your wedding date. 3. Measurements Once you have found the perfect dress and made the decision to place an order, a trained bridal consultant will take careful measurements to ensure the best fit possible. While a size is recommended by our staff, the size choice is always the bride’s decision. Many custom sizing options are available from couture designers for an extra charge, including custom measurements and custom lengths. However, no matter the complexity of measurements, custom fittings are required in most cases for a hem, bustle, nip and tuck. 4. Arrival and Fittings Upon the arrival of your bridal gown, it is shipped directly to Normans from the designer, where it is thoroughly inspected in our shipping and receiving department. The bride will then receive a phone call or letter, notifying her that the wedding gown has arrived. The bride is asked to call and schedule a custom fitting appointment or schedule for pressing and pick-up. We suggest you schedule your fitting appointment 10-12 weeks prior to your wedding. You may require a follow-up appointment for fitting as well. Rush fittings are available. |
