Bridal Show 101

Bridal Shows can be overwhelming. Here are some Bridal Show 101-tips and tricks to get the most out of a bridal show. Attending a bridal show is something every bride should do at the beginning of their planning! It is the perfect time to meet with local wedding professionals and come up with an overall plan for your big day. Here are some tips on how to make the most of your bridal show experience!

Who you should bring:
Now that you’ve chosen a bridal show to attend, it is time to get your group together! When deciding who to bring with you, think about the people who will be most involved in the wedding planning process. People like the fiance’ ,mom, mother in law, sister or maid of honor are always great to have along to help you make some decisions. I recommend keeping your group relatively small. Bringing too many people could get distracting or bringing the wrong people could mean they are there to fantasize about their wedding, not to help you plan yours.

Make a List:
Before attending the show, make a list of major things you still need to decide on. This will help when navigating the show to know which booths will be helpful to stop and get information from. It will also allow you to make the most out of your time and be able to spend more time with the vendors you are really interested in. Some vendors get booked out so be sure to start with those. For example, if you are looking to book a venue, make sure to have some dates already in mind. The same goes for photographers, videographers, hair and makeup artists, after all they cannot be in two places at once. It is also important to bring your planner or calendar to help you when booking appointments.

Meeting Vendors:
Most brides start googling soon after the engagement. Things like wedding venues near me, bridal shops in the area, etc. Google and Facebook are great for getting an idea of names and places in the area but you wouldn’t buy a car unless you drove it first right? Same goes for wedding vendors. A bridal show allows you to talk one on one with the person behind the company. It also allows you to see examples of their work in person. This is really the best way to book a vendor you can trust for your wedding day.
Tip: Make sure to attend a bridal show on an empty stomach. There are guaranteed to be many vendors offering samples of their catering, cake, desserts and more!

Mega Discounts:
One of the best things about attending a bridal show are the discounts!! Most vendors offer one of two things. They either have a show special going on where if you book them for your wedding during the show, you get a special price. The other offer most of the time is a coupon or discount to use at a later date like $50 off your bouquet or a free engagement photo session. Either way you are looking at some major savings when you attend a show. Most shows also have giveaways that you can choose to enter. These giveaways can include even better savings from the vendors at the show, special prizes, or even a honeymoon giveaway!
Tip: Print labels with your name, phone number, email address and wedding date on them to make entering giveaways much faster!
